It’s unclear what the cause of death was, but a necropsy will be done. Elizabeth Forel, of the Coalition to Ban Horse-Drawn Carriages, suggested that the animal was likely mistreated: “A healthy horse doesn’t just die on the street.” That’s true, the horses usually have to be spooked before they take off and fatally crash into something.
