That head-bopping baby hawk is genetically predisposed to be too cute to kill. It’s a survival thing. Born to Rosie and Bobby of Washington Square Park, the hawk’s first moments were caught by the New York Times’s Hawk Cam. Is the baby hawk still cute when Rosie flings a rat corpse at it and it starts tapping it hungrily with its teeny soft beak? Is it still cute when gobbling up bloody pre-plucked rat slithers? Is still cute when cuddling up to half a rat carcass, the tail dangling out in crooked rigor mortis?
Here’s the most recent one. Look it. So cute. Who wants to snack on a squirrel? How about a bite of pigeon? Aww… Nature. Watch it live.
