Austin-based movie theater chain the Alamo Drafthouse is opening a venue on the Upper West Side. The new theater will “provide food and drink service to your seat and uphold its famously strict no-talking policy.” What does that mean? You get served craft beers, hard liquor cocktails and wines. Yey. Also, they’ll viciously chuck out people who are talking and texting. Yey! Also, the person in the seat next to you might be chewing on a turkey meatloaf sandwich. Ye…eh?

The Alamo Drafthouse at the Metro will be taking over a long-closed five-screen Metro Theater on Broadway, between West 99th and 100th streets. It’s opening sometime in 2013 with new, repertory and special programming, like commercial free Mad Men screenings. That’s plenty of time to decide whether you’re ok with cheesy, meaty, munchy fumes because you might see a talking idiot kicked the fuck out, like this…
