Movie tickets aren’t cheap and the cost of treats once Cerberus-in-a-red-vest gives you back your stub is downright astronomical. Since Bloomberg wants to drop pop (and lock it?), movie theatre honchos say they may need to jack prices up even higher.

Robert Sunshine, a spokesman for the National Association of Theatre Owners says that the ban would have “tremendous impact” as the sale of sugary snacks and drinks accounts for 25% of cinema profits. Sunshine, whose message of gloom and doom contrasts not at all hilariously with his name, also told The Guardian that, “somewhere along the line the profit will have to be made up.”
