Brooklyn District Attorney Michael Jaccarino was arraigned for assault today after allegedly choking and punching an emergency medical technician from the back of an ambulance. The 30-year-old prosecutor was walking across the Brooklyn Bridge when he was picked up by the EMTs, though according to the AP, it’s “unclear” why they approached him. Police say after Jaccarino was in the hospital, he unstrapped himself from the stretcher before attacking the technician.

Jaccarino, unsurprisingly, is being suspended without pay.
