Leo Villareal can make your eyeballs orgasm with a few strategically placed light bulbs. Starting October 25, the man behind the light sculptured facade at the Brooklyn Academy of Music will pay tribute to the one and only Buckminster Fuller, legendary architect and the dude responsible for Spaceship Earth at Walt Disney World. Villareal’s new sculpture, appropriately dubbed “Buckyball,” will consist of 180 LED tubes and display 16 million colors, all within a giant sphere composed of smaller hexagons and pentagons. Yeah. Eyeballs. Orgasm. And thats just the beginning–the sculpture will contain chance-driven software emitting random compositions of color and speed. In English: shit will happen when you move around it. The display will be up for your visual enjoyment till February, so bring some tissues.
