Brooklyn-based artist Jason Sho is building a fantastical interactive robot city on a gallery wall in Germany, and he wants your help. “The wall installation is a landscape that spirals into a city in the center,” he writes on his Kickstarter page. “It will be a mixed media assemblage of drawings, paintings, sculpture, robotics, and projections.”
The project looks like a cyberpunk Rube Goldberg machine, mixing interactive elements with lots of moving parts and a generous helping of light and sound magic. In addition to visiting the gallery, spectators will be able to access the installation via the internet, viewing it in first person from webcams installed throughout.
Sho’s got 24 days to go to fund the project, and he’s reached $1,190 of his $4,500 goal so far.
