A Los Angeles-bound airliner was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff from JFK Airport on Thursday due to engine failure from a bird strike. Moments later, the captain of Delta Flight 1063, who has yet to be identified, cooly radioed air traffic control as if he didn’t have a care in the world. Just listen to this guy.
A passenger who disobeyed the rules and didn’t shut off his electric device, was filming the ascent and appears to have captured footage of the suicidal feathered suspects.

My dad is an airline pilot. In 1983 a lone duck smashed into his cockpit window and half-blinded him. His co-pilot landed the plane and was a hero. Unfortunately the incident shot his nerves, and he later flunked his check rides and was fired. My dad has a glass eye and flies to this day.
