If you’re ever in Pittsburgh, check out Conflict Kitchen. The Kitchen is a small take-out restaurant with a changing storefront and cuisine–every six months, the menu changes to highlight a country that the U.S. is in Conflict with. Featured countries include Iran, Afghanistan, and Venezuela. Founded by Jon Rubin and Dawn Weleski, Conflict Kitchen also serves up community engagement events, discussions, and Skype dinners with activists and professionals in featured countries. As of June 1st, the Kitchen’s current iteration is La Cocina Cubana, offering up Cuban fare. Next up? North Korea.
