“My gallery decided not to show this at Basel for fear of offending Americans. I don’t think they would have minded,” artist David Shrigley tweeted earlier about his drawing of Osama Bin Laden, captioned with “He Believed That He Was Doing the Right Thing.”

He then retaliated with a Twitter quip, suggesting some alternate shit entitled “Everybody Likes Shit.” It’s a more aggressive, graphic version of his other little treatise on contemporary art:

Just for the record…the gallery chose not to show it because they didn’t want the issue to get in the way of the art (rather than to avoid offence). Which is understandable. I should be more careful with my tweets ;-)
