Did You Enter the TWU’s Subway Rat Contest?

Now that rodents are no longer confined to subway tracks and increasingly can be found scampering across platforms and on several occasions, riding the trains, the Transit Workers Union launched an online rat contest to bring awareness to the burgeoning infestation and they’re now extending the deadline.

Straphangers are invited to upload photos of vermin roaming underground and rating them. There’s only a handful of submissions, which clearly is not representative of the extensive problem that exists, so stop being greedy with your rat photos New Yorkers.
