Good news, filmmakers. That sweet 10% post-production tax incentive has just gotten sweeter. Gov. Cuomo has signed a new law upping it to 30% in the greater New York City area, Hudson Valley and Long Island, effective immediately. That’s hefty. So is the $7 billion spent in New York by film and television producers since the state began their generous luring them in 2004.

If you want to do your shooting at a place with more space and consistent lighting that knows no seasons (L.A.), fine. But come do your editing, effects, color correction, sound and mixing right here. So, come one, come all, come… uh… The Canyons?
