Putting aside any reasonable skepticism one might have for any online service suffixed with “for dogs,” the just launched DogVacay.com is pitching itself as an “AirBNB for dogs.” Like AirBNB does for bedroom and home rental, the matchmaking service offers a place for regular folk to offer up their homes for dogsitting, as well as reviewing patrons and their mutts in return.
Of course for those of us with homes in New York but no desire to have a full-time pet, you can look at DogVacay like I do: a doggie rental service in which I’ll get paid to have a play date with a pup. (Photo: LisaAuch/Flickr)

check out Rover.com, they've been in this space, and in NYC, for a while now.
Awesome! A new option for people like me that don't like kennels or strangers in your home. I'd feel so much more secure knowing my pup is with an actual dog lover.
Cool just signed up to host. Got the best rates in my area #nocompetition
