What else is there to say? These two Brooklynite baker dudes collectively known as the Cookie Guild whip up ale-infused confections such as Hefeweizen Citrus and Coffee Stout cookies. They’ve been in business for a few months, shilling their goods at Williamsburg’s Smorgasburg market, and now they’re looking to expand and turning to Kickstarter for help.

So how exactly does one put beer into a cookie? “You take beer and reduce it down to a syrup, and when it’s thick enough, we whip it into the butter like honey or molasses,” says head baker Kurt Schewe. “So you really get a rich, complex flavor.” I’d like to try one, just to see how beery it actually tastes.

With the Kickstarter funding the two are hoping to get their products into stores, begin shipping orders out, improve their packaging design, and hire kitchen help. The project has already exceeded its $4,500 goal, but funders can still receive gifts–from discounted cookies to an ice cream sandwich party for 20 of your closest friends. Eight days remain to get in on the beer cookie action.
