If panoramic sight on the back of your head seemed like an entirely implausible concept, get ready to have your mind blown. The new technological development FlyVIZ headset, now gives users 360 degree vision. A team led by Jérôme Ardouin of the Grande École d’Ingenieurs Paris-Laval has developed the new visual software by modifying a Sony Personal 3D Viewer.
The device is still an imperfect prototype and requires a direct computer connection, rendering the user partially immobile. It consists of a camera mounted onto a helmet, with the visual consequently projected onto a screen fixed in front of the wearer’s eyes. The device requires a 15 minute adjustment time, after which the users can freely move in their space.
The above video briefly demonstrates the headset’s functionality. Nice hat, bro.
