The ostentatious two week version of Halloween is almost upon us and along with it, expect some ghoulish marketing. Glamour magazine for example, announced that it will be deploying about 50 “mobile taxi shops” which will offer passengers “free” rides along with the opportunity to buy crap they don’t need via their smartphones.
Can you think of a better way to sit through traffic than to depressively shop? Adding to the experience, people will not be able to shut down their Taxi TV screens. Luckily, this promotion, like Fashion Week itself, will be confined to areas in the Meat Packing district and Lincoln Center. (Photo: Eszter Hargittai/flickr)
