In the neocon bubble, France, a long time ally since the founding of the republic and the nation which gave NYC the most iconic symbol of liberty in the modern world, is a bad thing. That would explain why the hosts of the intellectually-stirring morning show, Fox and Friends, were really upset about the Ralph Lauren designed opening ceremony uniforms for the U.S. Olympic team, claiming that the beret headgear accessory is much too French. It’s a sentiment they quickly backed off of and even apologized for after someone reminded them about the highly decorated Green Berets, a nickname attached to members of the U.S. Army Special Forces, who — as their name suggests — wear green berets. Oops. Wait till they find out a guy from France is credited with designing the Olympic rings.
