In the mid-2000′s, photographer Hana Jakrlova documented the XXX goings-on of a brothel in Prague that let customers have sex for free, if they live-stream it on the Internet.

There were four cameras installed in every room at the now-closed Big Sister brothel, including very strategic, sterile close-up angles.

“To me it seems like an extreme example of what is happening to all of us in this internet age. There is an absurdity where some people have to have it online to have it become real or exciting.”

That’s enlightening, but the photographer found the place “depressing” overall, even though sex work is legal in the Czech Republic:

“I was battling certain feelings of guilt, sort of like a war photographer. Are you a witness or are you going to be the one who throws away the camera and is going to help the person who is wounded?”

Well.
