A tipster to the good folks at Curbed brings you this: the friendliest, most neighborly note complaining about weed smoke ever written. The all caps is a little much–but hey, sometimes you need to make sure you’ll be heard–and otherwise, this is all nuance, courtesy, and respect. They even offer the offending smokers a free towel!

From the note, which was found in elevator of 808 Columbus on the Upper West Side:

1. WE WHOLLY SUPPORT LEGALIZATION AND RESPECT YOUR CHOICES.

2. PLEASE RESPECT OUR CHOICES TO KEEP OUR HOMES AND CHILDREN AWAY FROM THE SMELL OF POT.

And so on. Polite! Good elevator notes make good neighbors, or something like that.
