Yep, yep, to pretty much everything. And kudos for the best (and only!) analogy involving rap battles vs recording artistry/governing vs debating. Most people are so inured to the theatricality of politics, that they forget the most important part: namely, the politics.
Wasn't there a scene in the film Idiocracy in which the POTUS' State of the Union/address to Congress resembled a WWE match, complete with costumes, pyrotechnics and theatrics? I saw that film within this past year, and I'm not sure how funny it seems anymore; prescient is more like it,and a little disturbing…
Also, Obama's only job is not running for POTUS; he has another job, and it's a fairly demanding one. Anyone who has ever juggled multiple demanding responsibilities understands this. Questions about whether or not he "actually wants this" based on 90 minutes of his time could probably just be tabled for now.
