Jeff Koons, our favourite weiner-inspiration and pervy balloonist, received an award from the U.S. Department of State today for his contributions to the “Art in Embassies” cultural exchange program. In this interview with TIME Magazine, he seems not even a little bit surprised to receiving the medal.
Editor Glenda Luscombe asks him point blank “What service have you done for your country?” to which responds by patiently explains that his work has been sent to countries like Czechoslovakia, France and China. When asked about the fact that his hands never actually touch his work (thanks to a small army of studio minions), Koons reassures her: “I am actually very very skilled at painting and drawing.” Frankly Mr. Koons, we don’t give a damn.
