Just months ago, the Basquiat estate and the Warhol Foundation have announced that they will no longer be authenticating works. Now, the Keith Haring Foundation is disbanding its authentication committee. That means a bevy of happy dogs, dancing mens and joyous orgy’s realness could go unverified, unless they were submitted for review before September 1st. Instead of wading through the legal disputes surrounding the authentication process, the Foundation will instead focus on Haring’s legacy in philanthropy, supporting charitable causes like AIDS prevention and awareness, educational support to underprivileged kids and, uh… sex toys? (Photo: Gilbert King Elisa/Flickr)
