In a recent interview with Lil Wayne, MTV couldn’t resist asking the rapper about the “controversy” he stirred up last August by mentioning that he “flat out” doesn’t like New York. According to Tunechi, though everyone from NY State Senator Malcolm Smith to Busta Rhymes responded to the statement, he wasn’t aware of the shitstorm. “I have to be honest with you, dog: All I do is work, and I swear to God, I don’t even know the reaction,” he said. “If I knew the reaction I’d know how to be able to answer that question, but I don’t know the reaction. I just say what I want to say, do what I want to do and fuck who don’t like it.”

Wayne said he wasn’t aware of Fabolous’s “diss” track either. “Nah, I don’t listen to nothin’ else but myself, ’cause I’m just tryin’ to get better,” he said. “I always listen to what I could’ve said or done better, so I’m sorry.”
