To follow up their bring-down-the-house performance of “Darling Nikki” on Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, the Roots, fronted by former-SNL-star funnywoman (and daugter of Minnie Riperton) tore through a full set of Prince covers at Brooklyn Bowl last night. One enterprising bootlegger caught footage of the crew performing a faithfully bombastic version of “Purple Rain” at the close of the show. Whoever you are, Maya Rudolph is having more fun than you.
