When Mayor Bloomberg proposes a ban on anything nowadays, it’s best to err on the side of caution and assume he means business. So, it’s not surprising there was an uproar around the city from just the hint of him considering an initiative that would limit NYC’s booze inventory and other measures to curb alcohol use, quickly leading to some backpedaling from the politician.

In less than 24 hours, the plan has been scrapped.

Perhaps it is better to rattle the cages than just obediently swallow?
