Though his death took most of us by surprise to say the least, the late MCA—Adam Yauch—was a forward thinking dude, and had already written into his will that his image, music, or any art he created could ever be used in any piece of advertising. Thus, MCA escaped the destiny of dozens of musicians and public figures including John Lennon and, you know, Ghandi. His will, which was filed Tuesday, leaves his widow, Dechen Yauch the right to sell and manage his artistic property, so it remains to be seen whether Dechen will have a fight on her hands with the rest of the Beastie Boys should they ever want to sell a song to a car company. But we’re pretty confident this won’t be an issue.
