Though Christmas is over, and many of New York’s tree sellers have packed up their things and closed shop, documentarian Elif Alp hopes you remember that every Christmas tree sold has a real, living person behind it. With his newest project, Tree Corner, Alp pays produced a cinematic tribute to some of the city’s most visible temp workers, shining a light on the vendors’ day-to-day (it sounds just as cold and repetitive as you might expect). There’s a full-length film in the works, and you can catch a three-minute snippet of the lives of several tree sellers above.
