The Mets are in danger of not selling out their season opener for the first time in 15 years. The team’s 3 year losing record can’t be helping, so rep’s are baiting fans’ inboxes with two-for-one deals in an attempt to fill the stadium to capacity, as early as this morning.

Meanwhile, in the Bronx, the Yankees home opener tickets are almost sold-out at at least $76 a pop. Their season opener in Tampa is sold out. Will they sell out their home opener? Judging by the price discrepancy between the two teams, it’s more likely that the Yankees will fill every seat.

Financial woes and Bernie Madoff troubles have been long suffocating the Mets, leaving fans less than pumped for the 2012 season. The Yankees, on the other hand, are enjoying a payroll double the Mets’ and are actually winning.

As usual, the best corporation in Baseball is always the winner.
