It’s been reported that the New Museum has announced the curators of its 2015 Generational Triennial, and it looks like we can expect the exhibit to be new media-heavy. Lauren Cornell is the director of the New Museum’s affiliate and new media platform with whom she has curated a number of tech-heavy shows including 2010’s “Free” and the Internet-collage exhibition “Montage: Unmonumental Online,” a part of the museum “Unmonumental: the Object in the 21st Century.” For the 2015 triennial, Cornell will be teaming up with video and installation artist Ryan Trecartin, who was featured in the New Museum’s first Generational in 2009, “Younger than Jesus.” In a press release, New Museum director Lisa Phillips had the following to say about the selection: “Cornell and Trecartin came into their own in this millennium and are deeply in touch with how the world is changing and how artists of their generation are responding.” (Photo: Ricardo/Flickr)
