In “76,” a new video from New York hip-hop lifer Roc Marciano, the rapper and director Jason Goldwatch use grainy, Super 8-style footage to channel vintage NYC vibes, much like Joey Bada$$ recently did. But while that video fully committed to its old-timey conceit, “76″ mixes the nostalgic-looking footage with bits of the modern city–most strikingly when a shot of the unfinished new World Trade Center pops up at around 3:20. As Tom Breihan at Stereogum points out, it’s a concept that perfectly jibes with Marciano’s brand of blown-out boom-bap.
