The video above is “an ultraviolent, over-edited orgy of every Hollywood movie in which New York is desecrated, attacked, destroyed, in anarchic narrative unity.” In other words, it’s a feature-length film compiled from many, many silver screen selects that quite literally tear up NYC.

Opening with Woody Allen’s Manhattan-esque intro the compilation borrows scenes from 50 movies, including French Connection, Die Hard, Wall Street (the Shiah Lebouf version), Day After Tomorrow, Transformers (which wass shot ahem… in Chicago), Sleepless in Seattle, Independence Day, Godzilla, Deep Impact, the Shyamalan movie about the bees, Armageddon, and of course that Robert Pattinson movie where he dies in the Twin Towers. Expectedly the events of 9/11 serve as quite the focal point, in the most gruesome detail.

At the end of an hour’s worth of craftily edited footage, there is not much narrative, but the film surprisingly makes sense. In the end, New York gets nuked to “Rhapsody in Blue” but Chalrton Heston still survives, only to leave you with creepy Nick Cage doing a creepy monologue.

We guess it’s never too soon to start prepping for doomsday?
