Long before New York City was a conflict-free oasis where the streets smell like roses and Times Square was safe for families, it was quite the soiled place, but in a good way. It gave the city some character as evidenced by photographer Steven Siegel’s ever growing collection of 1980s era snapshots that are burning up the internets.
