Police raided a Crown Heights public housing project Friday and seized 13 animals, including alligators, tarantulas, and scorpions. Apparently, residents of the raided unit had been keeping something of an amateur zoo–in addition to the exotic animals, which also included pythons, bearded dragons, and a boa constrictor, the tenants had several large pit bulls. “There’s urine and feces in the hallway, and nine times out of ten, it was them,” said Klein Poe, who lives below the unit. “In these types of apartments, who would want three dogs?”

So, what was it like living under the amateur zookeepers of Crown Heights? “It was straight weird,” said Poe.
