“It’s a simple idea. Build a boat from New York City’s waste, take it to the source of the Hudson River – the river without which the city would not exist – and row the boat back to NYC.”
Now, to raise thousands on Kickstarter! This ambitious and gorgeously pitched film project from Antony Crook and James Bowthorpe, set to the sounds of Mogwai, follows James as he collects the city’s waste, gleaning streets and scavenging dumps for materials. After building his boat, he sails from Lake Tear of the Clouds high in the Adirondack Mountains, the very source of the Hudson River, rowing it back to the city, through the wilderness. Closing the loop. Bringing it all back home. Poetic. Nifty. Worth a Kick?
