What’s up with that, New York? Just look at these gorgeous artist renderings of Leo Villareal’s The Bay Lights, soon to be the world’s largest LED light sculpture! Spanning the western side of the Bay Bridge, it will begin to be built shortly and will be unveiled in March 2013. Watch what it will do! Wow! Damn, one of our bridges should have definitely tapped that.

The light installation will be 1.8 miles long and 500 feet high, complete with “25,000 individually programmable, energy-efficient LED lights mounted on the vertical cables.” Are you ready for the most amazing part? It will only cost $30 per day in electricity. The future is here, friends.

Bay Bridge, you lucky bastard. This is just going to make the Golden Gate Bridge even more suicide-y. Nice going.
