The Port Authority may fine air travelers tens of thousands of dollars if they cause a flight to be delayed reports everyone and according to the Metro, the measure is already in effect. It appears the agency is specifically looking to punish people who refuse to turn off their electronic devices or argue with flight attendants, but is this the real cause of NYC airport slowdowns? Often it’s the carriers, not fellow passengers causing a delay, so I’m not sure how this is going to make flying more efficient, but it definitely sounds like a great strategy for the cash-strapped PA to raise some money. After all, someone has to pay for the ballooning costs at WTC 1. (Photo: Dimmerswitch/flickr)
