Converse wrapped up its annual music and skateboarding bash they call City Carnage here in the Rotten Apple. Because New Yorkers get sort of bored with overly organized events, they just give away money to the skaters who are most adept at destroying themselves and/or the concrete terrain. Hence the name “carnage.” It’s way more fun than the X-games and all that jockification of skateboarding crap you see on NBC and ESPN. Top-notch pros Rune Glifberg, Tom Remillard, Kenny Anderson, Freddy Gall, Zared Basset and Willy Ackers show up to skate with local troublemakers like John Gardener, Dan Carrero, TJ Shick, John Grigley, Colorado and Ivory Serra and it’s basically a beautiful bloody mess of a great time.

Skateboarding reflects traditional and individual culture of New Yorkers. Skating most ranking play game there have a lot of fashion, dread and glamor too. I always like to play it like as other US people.
