According to multiple sources, graffiti pioneer and the original “Voice of the Ghetto,” STAY HIGH 149, has passed away. The legendary vandal, real name Wayne Roberts, was 62-years-old. In graffiti circles, he was well known for blasting his iconic stickman-smoking-a-spliff figure (a character inspired by TV series The Saint) along with his name on walls, trains, and other surfaces in the early 70s. After decades in obscurity, he emerged back onto the scene around 2000 and proceeded to make a small comeback that was enough to reaffirm, at least in part, his royal status.
