Good news rent controlled tenants, the Supreme Court isn’t going to fuck with your living situation. Earlier today, the court refused to hear a case that could’ve had huge ramifications for those rare species of people lucky enough to be occupying rent stabilized apartments in NYC. It all stemmed from a dispute filed by James and Jeanne Harmon, owners and residents of a five-story brownstone on the Upper West Side who argued that the people they rent the other floors to are getting too good of a deal and therefore were in violation of all sorts of laws. Luckily, the conservative justices weren’t given an opportunity to botch this case up. (Photo: Hobo Matt/flickr)
