Take That, Bloomberg: Soda Is Cheaper Than Water At Barclays Center

In a move that seems almost specifically designed to get under Mayor Bloomberg’s skin, refreshment stands at the just-opened Barclays Center charge 50 cents more for a regular water ($4.50) than they do for a regular soda ($4.00). Though the arena’s management agreed to comply with the sub-16-oz soda rules 6 months ahead of schedule, this seems like as good incentive as any to slurp down some sugary drinks while watching Hova christen the venue this weekend. Worth noting: Ryan Sutton, the critic who first noticed the menu mix-up, is under the employ of Bloomberg News. Coincidence?
