Isaih Rosemond rides a unicycle. Unicycles are kind of unusual, and people often stop to ask him about it. Rosemund probably didn’t think the cop honking at him on Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie would be any different. But it was. $100 in fines different.

The officer, the New York Post reports, told Rosemund that it was illegal to ride a bicycle on the sidewalk. However, as one may surmise thanks to naming conventions regarding numerical prefixes built into the English language (or just by looking at the thing), unicycles and bicycles are two very different things. Things that, it turns out, there are laws regarding. And unicycles on sidewalks? Totally allowed. The ticket Rosemund received was not backed by any law.

Now, one month and two hearings later, Rosemund’s ticket is exactly where it belongs–in the trash.
