In a clip from the freshly opened documentary Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present, the performance artist meets magician David Blaine who proceeds to eat the wine glass and fantasize about dismembering her in the MoMA atrium.

We haven’t seen it yet, but presumably she met him because sitting still in a chair all day for three months straight did sound like the type of stunt Blaine could consult on how to [not] piss in public, mental endurance and what not. And then, he got drunk and giddy and thought it would be cool for him to ambush the performance and chop her to death with a museum axe. Clap. Clap clap. Abramovic seemed not all together opposed. To die–or, since it’s Blaine, to “die”–during a performance, on stage, if you will? How GG Allin of you, M.
