Observe A Beaver’s Piece by William Stone. One of these identical sculptures was culled from real wood and gnawed by a real beaver and salvaged from a real beaver dam in upstate New York. The other is its bronze doppelganger. Ooh. Eighteen artist are participating in this show with Alex Rickard “harnessing the optical properties of corn syrup” to create an intricate prismatic light environment of bulbs, glass, fog machines and other technical miscellany. Also, artificial fluorescence, a mixed-media metropolis, metamorphosed silver sticks and other funky transmutations. Looks fun.
