The ICEdot Crash Sensor, a new device and accompanying app, will notify an emergency contact of your choice immediately if you’re ever in a bicycle accident. A sticker affixed to your helmet senses when an impact has happened, sends data about the crash to your iPhone, and automatically calls your emergency contacts to let them know you’ve been hurt, providing them with a drop pin at the location of the accident. In case the crash isn’t serious, or you trigger the sensor on your helmet by accident, there’s a built-in countdown so you can cancel the emergency call.
The sensor and app will cost a combined $200, and are set to debut next year.
