Look at this kaleidoscopic Watertower by Brooklyn artist Tom Fruin. Now imagine it irradiated by sunrays and lit up in sequences from dusk ’till dawn. The 14-foot-tall structure made from 1,000 pieces of salvaged, New York plexiglas and steel from Pennsylvania roosts atop a building of artist studios in DUMBO.
Oh it’s so very pretty and function-less. Hyperallergic shows it shining at sunset. Nice. See at 20 Jay Street, starting June 7.

What’s really cool is that some of the plexi salvaged was from Dennis Oppenheim’s studio down the street!
