Anyone who was a kid in the last 55 or 60 years was sad to hear of Maurice Sendak’s death last month. His books were really integral in the childhoods of many of us, and a lot of us took it a little personally. Be that as it may, I didn’t see this coming. Someone is evidently selling tickets to Sendak’s memorial. The New York Times reports that tickets are “being made available,” but it’s not clear who is selling them, or for how much, or what’s going to be done with the money brought in by the sales. Again, these are tickets to a man’s memorial service. The service is on Tuesday at 11:00 at the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. And if that’s your thing, I guess you might want to know that you can email, and it’s a limit two tickets per email. If that’s your thing. (Photo: Seth Anderson/Flickr)
