On Monday, Tyler Sparks set up a camera and trained it on the World Trade Center’s construction. I can only hope he left, or at least had a book with him, because from the looks of this timelapse, he was filming all day long. The video is barely a minute and a half, and clearly there’s a lot of activity, though it really looks like it’s mostly a bunch of dancing cranes dancing wildly on the roof as intense black clouds swarm in. It’s like a more minimalist version of the Earth Cam timelapse. I hope when future archaeologists millennia from now find remnants of our lives here, they find timelapse videos first.
