A Rooftop Concert Series for NYC Subway Musicians

July 18, 2013 | Andy Cush

Because many of the best subway musicians will never get the audiences or recognition they deserve, one New Yorker is starting a series of concerts to bring them above ground. Subway Sets, produced by Dan Pierson, will feature one concert per month at a TBD rooftop location, each showcasing three veterans of the underground circuit. He’s taking to Kickstarter to fund it; check out the well produced pitch video below. Hey Dan, a suggestion: talk to the guy who does Latin-tinged versions of Beatles and Otis Redding tunes on the downtown-bound N Train platform at 42nd Street at rush hour, plus the late-night mallet maestro at 14th Street.
