A Slow-Mo Tale of Love and Pigeons in Bed-Stuy

February 27, 2013 | Andy Cush

Director Robert Kolodny created the short film Fly on Out, which uses a Phantom high speed camera to gorgeously syrupy slow-mo effect. The film tells a tale of what happens when one kid steals a bird, and shows an everyday slice of life for a whole cast of Bed-Stuy’s characters as well (most of the film’s players are not professional actors). The super slow motion and intense sound design is maybe a hair overused, but damn if it doesn’t all look so pretty. Watch above.
