Block Royal Baby News with This Chrome Extension

July 22, 2013 | Kyle Chayka

Okay, so someone who happens to be royalty is having a baby. That’s great, and it’s undoubtably a big news event considering that this soon to be baby could one day inherit the British throne. However, that’s not much of a pressing concern to some of us in the U.S., and there’s no reason that you should have to be bothered with such things, right?

If you’d rather experience today’s news without the steady stream of unnecessary delivery room updates, you may want to check out Silencer, the highly praised Google Chrome extension that allows you to filter both your Facebook and Twitter streams to ignore news about specific search terms, F.A.T.-style. Thanks to a new update, now you can specifically block royal baby news, too.

UPDATE: Now that the royal baby was born this should come in especially handy.
